What could be easier than that?īack around 1990 I did a good amount of remote stuff, always set up in an isolated area away from the main area and use a separate mixing board and a pair of studio monitors- basic stuff, some 2way EV's. Then get a mobile audio van! Goes like this, with digital mixer, you can send a cat5/6 wire to another of the same digital mixer.

Avoid those shitty trendy powered monitors, RockIt KRK or whatever that crap is. An 8"+ soft dome tweeter, or a 10"/dome tweeter. I would use some speakers of what is lying around- I have so many- and a power amp or stereo receiver as power amp. Get some of those Neumann powered monitors, about $1500. PS A habit I learned a long time ago, just my opinion, is to never, not ever use headphones for doing a final mix that goes out. You could put the whole kit into a backpack. You could do it with a friggin Behringer 3 space high rack mount mixer and a pair of powered studio monitors and do the mix on a tablet computer. Use a friggin small mixer and a pair of Auratones. Set up in a truck, a van, a side room, a hallway, a bathroom, a kitchen, fuck put a table outdoors if it is not raining. What're you skird of? I have done a ton of temporary set up remote mixes. I mean, get off your bum and do it right. Although, I ascribe to "the best or nothing" approach. My vote is to use a van or a truck as a mix place, use a second console, and run a cat5/6 wire out there for the feed. So are you going to use two mixers? because this good idea of yours requires setting up a dedicated mix that is a different concept from a live mix.
